WORLD WETLAND DAY-2018 CELEBRATION:

The Department of Environmental Studies, Kannur University has celebrated World Wetland day-2018 in association with Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (DoECC) on 17th February 2018. The programme organized was in connection with “Paristhithikam -2018(Phase-II), an environmental awareness campaign initiated by DoECC, Govt. of Kerala. The activity scheduled in connection with the celebration was One day Seminar for the public and students. The formal inauguration of the seminar was carried out by Mr. T.V. Rajesh, M.L.A.  After the tea break, the session on wetlands for Disaster Risk Reduction began at 11AM. Dr. DIPU.S, Scientist, CWRDM and Dr. P.T.Lakshmanan, Scientist9Rtd), CIFT, Cochin were the resourcepersons for the seminar. The audience was MSc. students from various branches of Kannur University, Mangattuparamba campus and public peoples A total of 150 participants participated in the seminar.
