WALK WITH THE WORLD -STRATEGIES AND PRACTICES FOR START UPS

Date: January 4, 2019.

The elimination of intermediaries in the supply chain (disintermediation), analytic disassembly of business categories (disaggregation) and the move from physical certificates to electronic book keeping(dematerialization) are the three forces that work in the eternal business era which start up companies need to closely observe, said Rediff.com CEO Ajith Balakrishnan. He was addressing the first mentor session 2019 “Walk with the World - Strategies and Practices for Startups” of the Kannur University Business Incubation centre at Thavakkara on January 4, 2019.

Mr. Balakrishnan said most of the companies whether they were nationalized, private, advertisement companies consumer marketing or others had been reeling under the invasion of the digital era. The products were keeping on changing with new devices. The regulatory functions of companies and entrepreneurs too had been changing periodically. Hence, it was important for the present- day startups to quickly sail along the digital changes taking place.

The internet will soon replace common channels of distribution in business and big data analytics is being slowly replaced by fast data, Mr Balakrishnan said. The Startups should focus on Word vectorization, as it is needed since deep learning has taken over the machine learning field. There have been many attempts to change the way text vectorization is done and to find better ways to represent a word, he said. By using vast amounts of data, it is possible to have a neutral network to learn good vector representations of words that have some desirable properties like being able to do math with them.

The University Pro Vice Chancellor Dr PT Raveendran inaugurated the session. Dr Balachandran kezhoth, Dr U Faisal, T.K Muneer and Sibila spoke on the occasion. The Information Technology and Management students from various colleges attended the session.
