TEACHER EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME AT CRC LEVEL IN KALLIASSERY GRAMA PANCHAYATH

Date: 1st & 2nd of March , 2019

On 1st & 2nd of March , 2019 an extension programme was organised by the School of Pedagogical Sciences, Kannur University in association with IQAC Kannur University as a part of academic activities focusing on ‘Teacher Empowerment Programme at CRC Level in Kalliassery Grama panchayath”. Primary School Teachers from various schools in Kalliassery Gramapanchayath, faculties and M.Ed Students of School of Pedagogical Sciences were participated in the two days extension programme. The inaugural session of the two day FDP programme began with prayer by Sajitha. Ms. Lisha K. (Assistant Professor, SPS) welcomed the gathering. Shri. Jayachandaran M, (Head Of Department, SPS ,Kannur University ) Chaired the function. Dr. Wilson V. A. (Member Syndicate & Campus Director SPE&SS, kannur university) inaugurated the function. Mr. Dileep Thelakkadan (H.M Mangad L.P.School ), and Dr. Anil Ramachandran (Asst. Professor,SPE & SS) felicitated the programme. After tea break, first theme presentation session was taken by Dr. Anil Ramachandran (Associate Professor, SPE & SS, Kannur University). The first day Programme concluded at 4.50 PM with National Anthem.

On the second day the programme began with a prayer. At 10 AM to 10.45 AM an interactive session “Teaching as a Profession and Professional Ethics of Teaching” was taken by Sri. Jayachandran M. (Head, School of Pedagogical Sciences). After a tea break of 10 minutes, a motivational talk was done by Soft Skill Trainer Mr. Antony Joy (JCI Senator & JCI Trainer). The session continued with a panel discussion session on “How to motivate children in learning- How to handle classroom problems”.

After a short lunch break another interactive session by Dr. Maya J Pillai (Associate Professor, PKM College of Teacher Education) on the topic “The Challenges faced by New Gen Teachers”. At 2.20 PM to 4.30 PM an interactive session “Teacher as a Communicator” was taken by Sri. Jyothis Paul (National Trainer, JCI India). After tea break the teachers gave a good feedback about the two days extension activity programme. Head master, Mangad LPS gave thanks to the programme organizers IQAC and Kannur University to orqanize such a wonderful programme for school teachers. The two day faculty development programme was concluded with vote of thanks by the organizing secretary Shri. Jayachandran M., HoD, SPS. Participants commented their feedback, certificate distribution and National Anthem.
