National Seminar in Hasya Sahithyam

SANJAYAN MEMORIAL LECTURE AND NATIONAL SEMINAR ON HASYA SAHITHYA ON 4th, 5th and 6 April 2017 . As part of Kannur University Annual Commemorative Lecture Series. Dr. PK Rajan Memorial ,The award presentation also took place. The event was held at the Neeleswaram campus at 4/4/2017 , 9 am. Vice Chancellor Dr.M K Abdul Khader inaugurated the function presided over by M V Padmanabhan (The Director,Department Of Student Welfare ) . Vice Chancellor presents PK Rajan Memorial Award to poet Rafeeq Ahmed . Inauguration of Perigamana Ishwaran Embranthiri Reference Library V P P Mustafa (Syndicate member) and Dr.PK.Rajan Memorial discourse was delivered by Dr. James Paul (Development officer) and EP Rajagopalan delivered the Sanjayan Memorial Lecture. Divakaran Vishnumangalam presented a paper on 'Humorous Tradition in Malayalam Poetry' in the seminar session that followed. On 5/4/2017, Ramesan Blathur presented a paper on 'Malayalam Journalism and Sanjayan' ,K R Tony on 'Hasyam in Postmodern Poems', Rajendran Edathum Kara on ' Hasyam Tradition in Malayalam Story' and Unniraj Cheruvathur on 'Hasyam in New Media'. During the seminar session held on 6/4/2017 , researchers and teachers presented topics on various topics in a very good manner. The concluding session was presided over by Dr. KK Sivadas , Prof. KP Jayarajan conclude the function. Sanjay, hailed as a Hasya in Malayalam literature, was read and evaluated from many angles. There was total 63 members on that event including 11 male and 52 female . The seminar, which discussed the heritage, history and present of Hasya, was of great benefit to researchers and students.
