Academic writing and publication in Humanities

Date: 15th and 16th February 2018

Academic and research writing are necessary for knowledge building and sharing within and across disciplines. Department of Economics, Kannur University conducted a two day national workshop on “Academic writing and publication in Humanities” in association with IQAC cell of Kannur University. The workshop provided educators, scholars and practitioners an opportunity to highlight their concerns with writing so as to enable them writing good academic papers. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Vinoj Abraham, Associate Professor, Centre For Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram.

The first Technical session on “Understanding theoretical framework and methodology in social research was presented by Dr. Vinoj Abraham”. Hypothesis And Hypothesis Testing for Social and Humanities Research was presented by Prof(Dr) K. P Mani, Retired Professor of Economics University of Calicut. Third Technical session on Academic writing and Publication was handled by Dr Joseph T J, Assistant Professor of Economics Central university of Kerala Kasaragod. Dr K C Baiju, Professor and Head of the Department of Economics, Central university of Kerala, Kasaragod made his presentation on Identifying research problem and use of theories in social and Humanities research in the fourth Technical Session. The last Technical Session was on Plagiarism and it was presented by Dr Vinod M, Assistant Librarian University of Calicut in an interactive way.
