Capacity Building Programme on “ Financial Literacy and Savings Schemes"

Capacity Building Programme was conducted on 7th March 2019. The inaugural session started at 9.45 am and the programme was inaugurated by Smt. Babay Saroja, President, Dharadam Grama Panchayath. The keynote address was delivered by Sri. C M Bharathan, Superintendent Thalassery Postal Division and a Special Address was given by Mr. Jayadeven, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Kannur Region.

The ward Member Mr. T K Pavithran felicitated over the function. Dr. K.Gangadharan, Professor and Head of the Department, Chaired the inaugural session Mrs. Dvivya Karrikan, Programme Coordinator, welcomed the gathering and Dr.V.Shaharabn, Assistant Professor of the Department, delivered the vote of thanks.

Four technical sessions were held as part of the capacity-building programme. The first session was on Postal Saving Schemes for the rural people. This session was handled by the resource person Mr. Vinod, Inspector, Mananthavady Postal Division, Wayanad. The second session was on Digital Banking: Emerging issues and challenges. This session was handled by Mr. Sreekant, Digital Banking Division, State Bank of India, Regional Office, and Kannur. The third session was on Postal life Insurance and Economic security of Rural Households. This session was handled by Mr. Rameshkumar N K, Group leader, Postal Life Insurance, Northern Region Kozhikode. The last session was handled by Ms.Anjala P Marketing Associate, State Bank of India, Kannur Region. She spoke on General Banking and covered all the vital banking services provided by the Bank to the public. There were 110 participants for the programme. The programme was concluded by 4.30pm.
