School of Physical Education and sports sciences is equipped with an international standard 400 meter synthetic track with lush green field for all track and field events. Facilities and equipment are available for training of elite athletes as well as conduct of national and international athletic meets. The synthetic track was constructed with the help of grant-in-aid from the Government of Kerala and was inaugurated on November 5, 2018 by the Chief Minister Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan
A multipurpose indoor stadium with indoor playing facilities for Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Handball, Judo, Wrestling, Kabaddi, etc is available. The indoor stadium is facilitated with wooden flooring and synthetic and rubberized mats for most of the games. The indoor stadium has two store rooms and separate washroom and change rooms for male and female. The indoor stadium is extensively made use for instructional classes as well as conduct of inter-collegiate and inter university tournaments
The university has a standard swimming pool of 25 meters with six tracks with 12.5 meter width and 7 meter depth. The swimming pool is facilitated with automated filtration. Separate wash room for boys and girls are also available. A swimming coaching center is run by the university, with regular and summer coaching programmes. A swimming certification programme is also run in the swimming coaching center
A multi-gym and modern fitness center is equipped with all modern fitness training equipment like treadmill, cycle ergometer and other multi-station gym equipment for health enthusiast as well as for high performance training.
The department has a well equipped physiotherapy and athletic rehabilitation center with all modern physiotherapy equipments for treatment of injuries, psychomotor skill development and athletic rehabilitation
Outdoor sports facilities for Cricket nets, Volleyball, Basketball, Hockey, Football, Tennis, Kho Kho, Kabaddi etc are available in the department.
The department has a well equipped library with 2400 books catering to physical education and sports sciences. The library is also subscribing journal and periodicals related to sports and sport science research.
As a department having M Phil and PhD programmes, there are well equipped sports science laboratories for sports psychology, exercise physiology and sports biomechanics. The laboratory facilities are extensively made use of for research and testing purposes.
A Sports Ayurveda research center is functioning in the department with the district ayurveda department. Treatment of injuries and rehabilitation is provided for our students as well as faculty members.
