International Webinar on “Beyond the Words: New Trends in Visual Poetry” and the Inauguration of Litenaissance, the Literary Club

The Department of Studies in English organized a one day International Webinar on “Beyond the Words: New Trends in Visual Poetry” on 27th November 2020 via google meet. Rafseena M, the coordinator of the Webinar delivered the welcome address. The Indo-American poet Dona Mayoora delivered a talk on “Beyond the Words: New Trends in Visual Poetry”. Dona Mayoora opened up the vistas of the experimental poetry. Focusing more on her attempts to explore the potential of visual poetry, Dona Mayoora explained how visual narrative technique in poetry has helped her to transcend beyond the limitations of words. The talk started at 9.00 am and concluded with at 10.00 am, followed by an interactive session where the students of the department cleared their doubts regarding the new form of poetry explored by Dona Mayoora. Students of I MA and II MA, M. Phil scholars, Ph. D scholars and a few alumni participated in the webinar. Sandra Ashok, II MA, the student coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. Total number of participants: 75.
