Extension Activity on IELTS for the students of Govt. Polytechnic College, Thottada

As part of the Initiatives for Departmental Extension Activities (Institutional Social Responsibilities), The Department of Studies in English offered a course on IELTS to the students of Government Polytechnic College, Thottada, Kannur. Using the resources of the department, the faculty and the Scholars of the department, an intensive course on IELTS was provided to the students. The course aimed at providing an opportunity for the students of Government Polytechnic College, Thottada, Kannur to make themselves familiar with the nature and scope of IELTS. The modus operandi of the sessions which focused on the four skills of assessment in IELTS exam was an interactive one. The sessions led by the teachers and scholars of DSE was practice oriented. The expected result of the extension activity was on making the students of Government Polytechnic College, Thottada, Kannur to be able to develop the skills required for entering IELTS exam. The students of Government Polytechnic College, Thottada, Kannur responded to the whole course enthusiastically. The whole course was very effective and the output was also a remarkable one.
