The department has organized four field level workshops among Adiya community of Wayanad. The evens were conducted as part of the programme on ‘Initiatives for departmental extension activities (Institutional Social Responsibilities) of IQAC, Kannur University. These workshops aimed to disseminate the idea generated from the research which has been carried out by the department in the area of customary practices of Adiya community of Wayanad.
The workshops were conducted at Bhavali, Thirunelly, Thrissilery and Valliyoorkavu of Manathavady Taluk in a participatory mode. Altogether forty elders from the community participated in these events. These workshops helped to impart knowledge about the works done by the department in the area of customary practices. It has also helped to develop a healthy interactive space between the community and the academic community.
