NATIONAL SEMINAR ON STOCHASTIC MODELING

Date: 21st and 22nd of March 2012

The Department of Statistical Science, Kannur University has conducted a National Seminar on 21st and 22nd of March 2012. This was the first national seminar conducted by the Department. The two-day seminar included inaugural session, 6 technical sessions and a valedictory session. Research Scholars, Academicians and Professional Statisticians from all over the country were present in the seminar.

The two day seminar started formally with a brief inaugural session on 21st March 2012. Prof. Michael Tharakan inaugurated the seminar.  The inaugural session was chaired by Dr. A. P. Kuttykrishnan, the chairman of the Organizing committee. Syndicate members and Students’ representatives offered felicitation.

The technical sessions were taken by Dr. B Rajeev, ISS, Bangalore, Dr. Primal Kumar of Jammu University, Dr. G Arivarignan of MK University, Madurai, Dr. S.Udayabhaskar, Vel Tech. University, Chennai, Dr. K K Jose of MG University and Dr. N Balakrishna of CUSAT.

The Valedictory session was held at 3pm on 22nd March 2012. This session was chaired by Dr. K Rajan, Co-Chairman, organizing committee. Valedictory address and Certificate distribution was done by Dr. A Ashokan, Registrar, Kannur University.
