The topic of the workshop was ‘Manodharma Sangeetha and Chowkakala Compositions. Prof. Ponkunnam Ramachandran, (Rtd) Professor & Head of the Department, Department of Vocal Music, Chembai Memorial Govt. Music College, Palakkad was the Resource person of the workshop. Each day 2 sessions were conducted. Prof. Ramachandran has taught 3 Chowkakala compositions and classes were also conducted on how to prove Manodharma Sangeetha. The compositions taught are 1. Saketha nagara natha in Harikamboji Raga, Rupaka Tala composed by Mysore Sadasiva Rao, 2. Dasarathi in Thodi Raga, Adi Tala composed by Tyagaraja and 3. Vidulaku in the raga Mayamalavagoula, Adi Tala composed by Tyagaraja. Students and other participants were greatly benefitted by Prof.Ramachandran’s scholarly sessions.
