International Seminar on ‘Positive Psychology’-Cultivating Positivity

‘Cultivating Positivity’, is a three-day international seminar on Positive Psychology organized by School of Behavioural Sciences from 3rd to 5th January 2019. School of Behavioural Sciences have taken up the seminar in the view to consider the theoretical basis for applied positive psychology, questions of who should apply positive psychology, as well as where and how and whether positive psychology applications could be applied in the Indian context.

The inaugural session started as per the programme schedule at 10.30 am. The inaugural ceremony was glorified with the presence of Honourable Vice- Chancellor of Kannur University- Prof.(Dr.) Gopinath Ravindran, Dr. Kamlesh Singh(Associate Professor, IIT, New Delhi, and Secretary, Positive Psychology Association of India), Dr. V.A Wilson (Syndicate member, Kannur University), Dr.S.Vinod Kumar, Head of the Department, School of Behavioural Sciences, Kannur University, and Mr. Wurock Chan Malith (Lecturer, College of Economics and Social studies, University of Bahr EL Ghazal, Sudan).

The sessions were handled by the eminent resource persons in the areas of positive psychology wherein “Doors to the world of happiness and strengthening relationships were themes for the first day. Wellbeing and positive reorganizations, positive psychological interventions, and cultivating change through appreciative inquiry were dealt on the second day. Paper presentations and importance of exercise and social wellbeing were handles on the third day during the three day International Seminar hosted by School of Behavioral Sciences, Kannur University
